Originally, the back portion of this home had a small, roughly enclosed porch that was only used for storage. The clients wanted to incorporate this into the home as useable space. They also wished their sole washroom was larger and more functional. To accomplish their goals, we added a 2-storey addition on to the rear of the house. This enabled them to have a family room on the main floor as well as a master bedroom above with its own washroom and 2 closets. The original washroom was also reconfigured. The entire reno was complicated by the fact that the house was “land-locked” and excavation machines did not have access to the rear. With creative thinking and great planning, this addition went off without a hitch.
