This large home had wonderful bones but was dated and divided into many rooms. We removed some main floor walls and created a large kitchen, butler’s pantry, breakfast area and ample living space. This area needed to be substantial as the owners often host large family functions. A new dual-function laundry/mud room helped to ensure the after-work/school traffic patterns were efficient. Keeping the traditional dining room location at the front of the home aided in preserving the grandeur of the central staircase. New wall mouldings in the foyer and staircase updated this space and created a feel of regal elegance.
