The Beach House

More space was needed in this home and, due to the large lot size, it was preferable to construct an addition to the existing bungalow rather than add a second storey. The addition consisted of a master bedroom retreat with ensuite and large closets, a shared washroom, and one good-sized bedroom. A full re-working of the existing home also yielded much more functional space with another good-sized bedroom, one-car garage, and the piece-de-resistance: a spacious great room at the front of the home containing a large kitchen, built-in breakfast nook, open and sunny foyer, dining area, and living room. A vaulted, shiplap ceiling, large windows, and a great design plan turned this space from dark and small to light-filled and spectacular. Across from a lake, the clients will enjoy their beach-themed, light-filled home no matter what the season.
